Problem

The New European Bauhaus movement is an EU-initiative with the ambition of testing, implementing and rolling out new methods for designing beautiful, sustainable and inclusive places across all Europe, making the European Green Deal a cultural, human-centered, positive and tangible experience. The Local Initiative supports 20 small and medium sized cities across Europe (less than 100k inhabitants) in (re)designing urban spaces towards a beautiful, sustainable and inclusive future. Backscatter draws on its experience in digital community engagement to foster a human-centered, data-driven and participatory approach in urban development.
